3rd Grade Curriculum Choices
Good morning, friends! Today, I'm sharing our third-grade curriculum choices. The only major(ish) change I'm making is switching from Writing with Ease + IEW Bible Heroes to Writing & Rhetoric by Classical Academic Press. (I adore pretty much anything made by Classical Academic Press.) Flipping through the curriculum, it looks like it has a lot of structure I love from WWE, but it's more delightful. Read on to see what we'll be up to this coming school year!
Classical Conversations is a wonderful program that assists me in teaching many subjects! These include Bible, math, English grammar, writing, Latin, history, fine arts (drawing, tin whistle, great artists, and orchestra), science, and geography. For the sake of avoiding repetition, I am not going to include CC in the list below.
- Bible: Midweek School, Sunday School
- Daily Learning Notebook - Cursive
- Math: Math-U-See Gamma
- Reading: All About Reading - Level 3
- Spelling: All About Spelling - Level 2
- English Grammar: First Language Lessons - Level 3
- Writing: Writing & Rhetoric - Book 1 (Fable) and Book 2 (Narrative 1)
- Handwriting - Zaner-Bloser Grade 3
- Literature: We read lots of great books! I frequently reference Read-Aloud Revival when choosing literature.
- Latin: Song School Latin 2
- Typing: Typing Instructor
- Fine Arts: piano lessons, field trips to our local theaters
- History/Timeline/Social Studies: Story of the World read-alouds
- P.E.: swimming and tennis lessons
