Fall-Inspired Beverages That Are NOT
Your Typical Pumpkin Spice Latte

Does anyone know German? I'm really hoping the text in this photo is appropriate, haha!

Ah, fall.* Fall is my favorite season followed closely by my second favorite... every other season that is not winter. Fall in Wisconsin means fiery trees, kitten-soft cardigans, and pumpkin spice everything. I have a confession to make though: I don't like pumpkin spice lattes. (I had to edit that several times to soften my originally strong language!) I know that makes me Queen of Weird, but Starbucks PSLs and my taste buds do not get along. Now, I don't go to Starbucks frequently (hello, $5 beverages!), but I usually get some gift cards around my birthday in October. (As if I need another reason to love fall!) This year, my sweet hubby gifted me with a mani/pedi appointment, and the salon just happened to be located adjacent to a Starbucks. I craved a fall-inspired drink that was not a PSL, so I did a quick Facebook poll and got some really helpful feedback. If you are also a resident of the Kingdom of Weird (sorry, the role of the queen has already been taken), and you would like to try some different fall-ish beverages, try one of these! (And peek at the bottom to find out what I ended up trying!)

Lattes

  • Chai Tea Latte (with skim milk, and/or with honey as options)
  • Spiced Chai Latte (I actually don't know if this is any different than the previous one! My knowledge of coffee is so vast, y'all.)
  • Maple Pecan Latte
  • Cinnamon Dolce Latte

Other

  • Salted Caramel Mocha (with skim milk, as an option)
  • Caramel Cider
  • Wait until December for the Creme Brûlée Latte (Umm, she had me at Creme Brûlée!)

I ended up trying the Salted Caramel Mocha and, while I liked it, it was a bit too sugary for my taste. (Oh my goodness, I can't believe I'm saying something was too sweet!) I think I'm going to try the Cinnamon Dolce Latte next, followed by the Chai Tea Latte. (The Chai Tea Latte got the most votes by far, but I can be a bit of a rebel.)

Please tell me I'm not the only one who's not obsessed with PSLs! Please share your favorite fall drinks in the comments!

*Fellow grammar nerds: the days of the week and the months of the year are proper nouns that should be capitalized, but the seasons should begin with a lowercase letter. Also, Rhode Island is neither a road nor an island. Feel free to discuss either of these.
