Follow my blog with Bloglovin

{1} This may not exactly be a shocker, but I *heart* blogs. I love peeking into the world of other people who teach, challenge, and inspire me. If you're like me and you follow several blogs, may I suggest that you check out Bloglovin'? You are able to subscribe to your favorite blogs, and new posts will show up in your feed. And guess whose blog you can subscribe to on there? {wiggles toes and bats eyes}

{2}  Remember that freezer meal post from a looooong time ago? The only one our family hasn't tried yet is meal #10, Lemon Awesome Chicken. My updated review of Lauren Greutman's freezer meal plan #4 is that it's pretty good overall, but I think the best meals are stacked at the beginning of the line-up. You might have seen a Facebook update I did on the Swedish Meatballs. If I were to make those again, I would definitely freeze the formed balls for an hour or so before placing them in the freezer bag, because if you follow Greutman's directions as is, your meatballs will turn into one gross-looking congealed lump. Meal #9, Chicken Parmesan Casserole was a major disappointment. I think the problem is that the noodles soak up all the liquid in the dish, and the overall result is just too dry. Dan, who detests wasting food, suggested that I throw out the leftovers. That's saying a lot.

{3}  I am so thankful that I've never had to deal with postpartum depression, but I have had to deal with long-term interrupted sleep and just being in an overall funk. I don't have the energy to do in-depth Bible studies right now, and I was feeling spiritually parched. I was crying out to God for some kind of manageable way I could stay in his Word during this season of my life, and the very next day, He led me to a Bible and devotional app called SheReadsTruth. I'm about half-way through their plan on Proverbs, and it was just what my soul needed. It only takes a few minutes, and I can read and reflect upon Scripture on my phone while I'm lying next to Theo. {He is currently under the impression that his crib equals jail and is refusing to sleep there.} SheReadsTruth has lots of plans, and you can go at your own pace.

{4}  Inspired by this post by the MoneySavingMom, I've been drinking a GALLON of lemon water a day, and I've kept up this habit for almost three weeks! When we started our Let's Shape Up Together Facebook group, drinking enough water was my biggest struggle. I guess all it took for me to start gulping down 3,785 mL a day was for me to leave a big jug out on the kitchen counter. The visual was super-helpful for me. If you're interested, just buy a gallon of spring water, add 150 mL (about 10 Tablespoons) of lemon juice (I use the bottled concentrate), and leave the jug out where you can see it. Pour it into a fun insulated tumbler, and you'll be on your way to a healthier you!

5.  This is super-weird, but I am still really thirsty at night, even after drinking my gallon of lemon water. {Do you know the science behind this? If so, do tell!} This decaffeinated tea is ah-mazing. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that it is honestly the BEST tea I've ever had in my life. If you like cinnamon, this is happiness in a mug. I don't add cream or sugar; I just drink it straight-up, and it is delicious. I found my new go-to gift, so, family and friends, try to act surprised if you get a tin of this from me. 🙂

Do you have any randomness to share? Enjoy the weekend, friends!
