A Hotel-Inspired Water Hack
I have so many things to share with you (books we've been reading, trips we've taken, parties we've, er, partied), but I thought I'd start by popping in with this quick water-drinking hack!
We recently spent a couple of nights at a hotel in Madison. While the boys were particularly obsessed with the pancake machine (just push a button and out pop two perfect pancakes!), I was enamored with their large beverage dispenser filled with fruit-infused ice water. I often popped down to the lobby to fill my water bottle with the yummy H20, and Dan and I realized that it wouldn't be difficult to recreate at home, especially since we already had a large beverage dispenser (used for lemonade stand purposes). All you need to do is dump a liberal amount of ice into your beverage dispenser, fill with water, and add fruit (washed and sliced, of course). Voila!
Here are the combinations our hotel offered:
- lemon + lime
- strawberry + lemon
- cucumber (my personal favorite)
We made lemon + lime infused water for Theo's 1st birthday party, and there wasn't much left by the end of the party. I also love that it encourages our family to drink more water. The boys love using the dispenser to fill up their cups, and I find myself drinking more water too since it's easily accessible and tastier than the version that comes from the tap.
Have you ever tried fruit-infused water? What is your favorite fruit combo? Please tell me about it in the comments!
