Kindergarten Curriculum Choices

Do you remember how our plan was to send Logan to Kindergarten and then bring him home for first grade? It's been a while since I posted that, so I won't blame you if you didn't. 😉 Well, plans have changed. In January, I registered him for Kindergarten at the Christian school we love (and is blessedly close to our house). But almost as soon as the registration check was cashed, I felt a tug to bring him home. I ignored the tug for months and tried to convince myself that one more year at school was the right choice. As much as I wanted to send Logan to school for one more year, I didn't feel settled until I sent the email asking for his name to be removed from the Kindergarten roster. It's definitely a Spirit thing, and I have no idea why God wants me to homeschool Logan this year. However, I truly believe that following His plan is always the right thing to do. I can't wait to see what He has in store for us! Let's do this!

Classical Conversations is a wonderful program that assists me in teaching many subjects! These include Bible, math, English grammar, writing, Latin, history, fine arts (drawing, tin whistle, great artists, and orchestra), science, and geography. For the sake of avoiding repetition, I am not going to include CC in the list below.

Logan will be joining me and his older brothers for "Group Time." I want to call it "Morning Symposium" like Sarah Mackenzie, but the boys are soundly rejecting this change. Our Group Time has changed a bit since I last posted about it; now that the boys are older, there's less emphasis on calendar, weather, etc., and more emphasis on devotional, prayer, hymn memorization, Shakespeare, etc.
